Cedar Point HalloWeekends
Are Cedar Points HalloWeekends Worth the Trip?
Family friendly delights and evening frights are Back declares Cedar Points website.
The adventure begins Sept 12 through Nov 2nd, but is it truly worth the hype.
Cedar Point has had its share of disapointments for its guests. Several of the fan favorite rides have gone the wayside for more roller coasters. One only has to look at this years discarded Top Thrill 2 {dragster} to know what its like to want something from this park experience and not get it.
There as of this post still hasn't been much update as to when or if Top Thrill 2 will reopen.
But what about the Haunted attractions. Are they worth it. We will take an idepth look into all of the following "Haunts"
CornStalkers 2.0
Cut Throat Cove
Blood on the Bayou
The Haunting of Eerie Estate
Slaughter House
Freak Show
Blood Bath
Midnight
Tombstone Terror-tory
Hall Of Infamy
CORNSTALKERS 2.0
I have vistied CornStalkers 2.0 and without giving away its trade secrets, I will say that it is very cramped and dark. If you have yearly alergies I don't recommend this attraction. But if you can handle corn dust well enter if you dare. This walk through will take you about 10 mins once you get into the maze. My advice to you is stay back a few from the people in front of you. Cedar Point has a way of grouping tons of people together and well it sort of takes away the jump scare affect. Know that these creatures do not touch you, they do speak and seemingly come out of nowhere. There is a multiple choice test at the end so I hope you are paying attention up until then. Id give this a 2 out of 5 starz.
CUT THROAT COVE
If this were a snake, it would have bit you. It is out of the way and unless you see the line you would never know its there.
See orange glow of the photo. This was by far one of my favorite. Nestled underneath the Maverick roller coaster, this Jack Sparrow themed haunt is actually well put together. Everything is Pirate themed as you might have guessed by its name but features alot of the old Pirate ride flare.
You will see the bartender and the drunken patron as well as some of the old treasure. The costumes inside this walk through are actually pretty cool. There is one section that someone actually is hidden very well and will come at you very unexpectedly. 4 out of 5 starz. This is a must walk through. 10
Blood on the Bayou
In my opinion this is bar far the longest walk through in Cedar Point. It is also the most boring. For the first half of the walk through there is absolutely no one or nothing to scare you. There is plenty of Bayou sounds but no creatures. No aligators, snakes, spiders etc and no monsters to be found. You walk by a room with around 4 or 5 curtains only to find no one there. By the time you round the corner you may get your first encounter with a monster but they are out in the open and do nothing to frighten you. You will see one crock at this point but it isn't scary. When you come close to the end of the walk you will encounter around 10 monsters that well if I am being honest aren't scary at all. This is a complete waste of time. 1 out of 5 starz. It gets one star for its name.
THE HAUNTING OF EERIE ESTATE
What can I say about this one. Its probably in the best location and House at Ceder Point. Located right before the Cork Screw this mansion houses paranormal activity. The very first person you meet explains to you that he is just investigating the house and isn't scary but as you walk through it is jump scare after jump scare and the tech is kind of cool as well. This is just a fun mini walk through and doesnt last long it think it took me less then 10 mins to get through. 3 out 5 starz
Stay tuned to more on the Haunts to come. So far I am not very impressed with the events. For the amount of money they charge you to get in there really isn't much to see. The wait times are sometimes over 2 hours and for the most part its a 8 to 11 kind of thing. There arent many Animatronics throughout the park, not many monsters roaming, no hidden areas that you walk past unexpectedly and get scared I feel there are so many missed opportunities here. I hope when Six Flags takes over they will fill the gaps. I will finish the other attractions this week and provide the feed back to you. Then we will turn our attention to the bands? Just remember its entertainment value...IF that makes sense.
Stay Tuned.
